Bio:

I have always wanted to make things and share them with others. Starting from a young age, my father showed me how to operate various tools in his workshop, and I produced my first wooden sword. In the hands of my younger self, it had a tragically short life. I took this newfound skill and naturally armed my school friends. The elation my friends would express when being given the weapon that would earn them glory was intoxicating! This is a feeling I suspect I will never stop chasing.

Fast forward to my college years, and a very tumultuous add/drop week, I found myself in a ceramics class. It was a slippery slope. I spent every waking minute in the studio, trying to master this infuriating tool called a potter’s wheel. After hours of instructional videos, hours of failure, and constantly badgering my professors about specifics; I could finally center. Practice is the highway to success.

After all the trials and tribulations of earning my B.S. in Art Education as well as a B.F.A in Ceramics both from Kutztown University. I now have the honor to pass along the ancient knowledge of ceramics to high schoolers, while also spending time in my studio furthering my own understanding of the craft. It is a culmination of all these things that has brought me to my newest body of work. It consists of a selection of mugs, bowls and vases that are utilitarian while still being aesthetically delightful. They can act as conduits between friends and family, a memory to be shared and passed on.

And it just so happens, giving a mug to an adult, garners the same emotion as giving a young boy a wooden sword. Pure happiness.
