Functional and decorative wood turnings

I started turning about 4 years ago after a class at NCCC. My background in forestry gave me an appreciation for growing and harvesting timber, but not the finer aesthetics of grain patterns. This came with turning. I enjoy turning and the discovery of what one fines in the grain of the woods we turn. My shop, “Broken Branch Creation” derives its name from the fact that I try to use as much wood as possible from storm damaged trees, those removed for power line maintenance, and other sources. I do use exotics in some of my ornaments. I find turning to relieve the stress of a day at work.
